It was a memorable and inspiring celebration at Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), Olumo-Oreyo, Ikorodu, Lagos, as children took centre stage during the church’s Children’s Day celebration held alongside the Covenant Day of Recovery and Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, May 31.
The special service, which coincided with the church’s worldwide Covenant Day of Recovery and Thanksgiving, provided an opportunity for the children to demonstrate their talents, leadership abilities, and spiritual growth by taking charge of virtually every aspect of the worship service.
From the opening proceedings to the delivery of the sermon, the children conducted the programme with remarkable confidence and excellence, earning admiration from members of the congregation.
Miss Amaka Ngwuta handled the Call to Worship and Bible reading session, while Miss Bolaji Mary led the congregation in hymns. Testimony time was anchored by Miss Idemudia Emmanuella, and announcements were delivered by Master Bolaji David. Master David Azenabor served as usher for the service.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the choir ministration led by Master Raphael Ashibuogwu, whose team rendered melodious songs that uplifted the congregation and added colour to the occasion.
The children also thrilled worshippers with energetic dance presentation, with impressive display that drew applause from church members.
Delivering the sermon, Master Daniel Ngwuta spoke on the theme of children’s identity in Christ, reminding every worshiper that they are “a chosen generation” with a divine purpose.
His confident presentation and understanding of Scripture impressed many worshippers.
As part of activities marking the celebration, the church organized a Bible Study Competition among the children. Master Daniel Ngwuta emerged overall winner, while Masters Bolaji David and Raphael Ashibuogwu secured second and third positions respectively. The winners received prizes in recognition of their outstanding performances.
Another major highlight of the service was the presentation of certificates to children who successfully completed a three-week Junior Bible School training programme. The certificates were presented by the Resident Pastor, Pastor Innocent Joseph.
Not less than 14 (fourteen) children received certificates during the ceremony, including Miss Oluwaferunmi Owoseni, Miss Mirabel Osasona, Miss Abisola Osasona, Master Kelvin Ebiniyi, Master Joshua Ebiniyi, Finfeoluwa Owoseni, Emmanuel Mary and several others.
Speaking during the presentation, Pastor Joseph commended the children for their dedication to spiritual learning and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their Christian faith and moral values.
Members of the church expressed delight at the children’s performances, describing the service as uplifting, inspiring, and evidence of the bright future of the church.
Many commended the youngsters for their confidence, discipline, and ability to effectively handle responsibilities usually performed by adults.
The celebration ended on a joyful note as parents, teachers, and church members joined the children in thanksgiving, making the event a memorable occasion filled with worship, learning, fun, refreshments and appreciation.
The Children’s Day celebration at Living Faith Church, Olumo-Oreyo Chapel, not only showcased the talents and spiritual development of the young members but also reaffirmed the church’s commitment to raising a generation of godly leaders equipped for service to God and humanity.
